We are an open intake facility to all of Bowling Green and Warren County. That means that we never turn an animal from our community away, regardless of health, temperament, or space. We have a very high adoption rate and take pride in placing animals in our care into wonderful new homes. However, we can not and will not ever guarantee the placement of any pet. If you are willing to redeem your pet in the event we are unable to place them for adoption, you MUST notify shelter staff during the intake. If you are preparing to surrender a pet to us, please collect as much information about that pet as you can. These are just a few of the things that are very helpful for us to have:
1. Medical records of any kind 2. Medications the pet is taking 3. A short write-up about the pet, including information about his or her behavior around cats, dogs, and children. 4. A list of tricks or commands the pet knows, including whether or not the pet is housetrained.
You are welcome to bring any items you would like to have sent home with your pet when adopted. These may include things like beds, toys, clothes, collars, etc. Please put these items in a plastic bag and write your pet's name on it so it will be easy for us to identify.
Donations are ALWAYS appreciated and will help us provide your pet with the best care possible; however, donations are not mandatory for residents of Bowling Green and Warren County.
