Group Opportunities at BGWCHS

Whether you are looking to educate the next generation, give back with your coworkers, or invite us to a local celebration, we have several ways for your group to get involved!

School and Education Groups

Our education program offers both on-site and off-site experiences designed to teach students about animal welfare. Note: all education programs must be planned at least 30 days in advance, so please submit the Education Program Form as soon as possible to provide your details.
Program Options:
  • School Visits (We Visit You): Our staff can visit your location for a classroom lesson or a school assembly.
  • Field Trips (You Visit Us): Groups can visit the shelter to see our mission in action.
    • Capacity: Space is limited to no more than 20 individuals. Please keep in mind, children must be well-supervised, and groups are expected to provide plenty of adult chaperones. Chaperones count toward the 20-person maximum capacity.
    • Considerations: Please be mindful of your students’ allergies and sensitivity to animals or loud noises.
  • Program Topics: We offer a variety of topics and activity styles to fit your needs. Choose from topics such as pet overpopulation and the importance of spay/neuter, general pet healthcare and caretaking, how to keep pets safe, or a relevant topic.
  • Choose between a presentation-style lesson, hands-on activities, or animal interactions (if available).
To schedule a school group, please complete and submit the form below.

Volunteer Groups

We welcome corporate, university, and community organizations looking for team-building opportunities that make a difference.
What to Expect
  • Tasks: We can offer a mixture of tasks, which may include working directly with animals or supporting the facility.
  • Large Groups: Because our space is limited, it is difficult to host more than 20 people at once. If you have a large group, we may be able to split your group into smaller sessions or offer off-site options.
  • Off-Site Impact: A highly impactful project for large groups is hosting a supply collection table at a local retailer. These projects may require more than 30 days' notice to coordinate with the retailer. Please contact us at [email protected] if you’re interested in hosting a supply drive.
Requirements
  • Please give us at least 30 days' notice.
  • Each participant must complete a volunteer form, waiver, and meet all age requirements.
  • Groups with children under 13 years of age are not considered "volunteer groups," as these ages require different staff resources.
To schedule a volunteer group, please complete and submit the form below.

Community Events

Do you have an upcoming event where you'd like to see BGWCHS? We love being part of our community!
While we consider all invitations, our participation depends on:
  • The safety and well-being of our animals.
  • The availability of our limited staff and volunteers.
Please complete and submit the form below to share details about your community event.
